These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the FlightLedger iOS application ("the App"), published by Mobile Alchemy ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to the extent not superseded here.
FlightLedger is a pilot logbook: it records flights you enter or import, computes totals, night time and regulatory currency estimates, and produces exports and reports. The App's free tier includes importing your existing logbook, browsing and search, currency status, full JSON/CSV export and automatic local backups. Additional features are available through the optional FlightLedger Lifetime purchase.
The App's calculations — including night time, cross-country distance, and currency under 14 CFR §§ 61.56, 61.57 and 61.23 or any other regulation — are advisory estimates based on the data you provide. They are provided for convenience only. You, the pilot, remain solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your logbook, for determining your own currency and eligibility to act as pilot in command, and for compliance with all applicable regulations. The App is not a substitute for official records, a certificated flight instructor, or the regulations themselves.
Your logbook entries, signatures and imported data are yours. They are stored on your device; we claim no rights over them and hold no copies. You are responsible for maintaining backups (the App creates local backups automatically and lets you export them).
You agree not to use the App to create records you present as false, to reverse engineer the App except as permitted by law, or to resell or redistribute the App.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any regulatory, enforcement or insurance consequence arising from reliance on the App's calculations. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these Terms; changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
